
ACTION REQUESTED - Provider Cost Data
Dear PMC Members:
In an effort to help shape a response to the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) report on power wheelchair acquisition pricing, the Power Mobility Coalition (PMC) is trying to assess the actual and comprehensive costs borne by power wheelchair providers, including all overhead and mandatory costs associated with Medicare participation, including accreditation, surety bonds, delivery, beneficiary education and service.
To obtain this information, the PMC is asking provider members to provide a breakdown, as a percentage of cost per claim, of all the mandatory costs essential to providing a power wheelchair to a qualified Medicare beneficiary.
Be assured that any information provided to the PMC will be held in the strictest of confidence and will not be shared with any other organization or PMC members. Further, no specific provider will be identified and any data included in the PMC response will be averaged with information from other providers.
