The Power Mobility Coalition

WHAT IS THE PMC?

The Power Mobility Coalition (PMC) is an association of suppliers and manufacturers who provide services and mobility equipment such as motorized wheelchairs and scooters, to beneficiaries nationwide. Formed in 2000, the PMC provides a voice for the power mobility community when addressing issues that restrict access to products and services to beneficiaries with limited and compromised mobility.

The PMC's goal is to work with members of Congress, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Medicare Part B carriers, and the beneficiary community to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive the power mobility equipment they need to live fuller, more independent and active lives.

During its short tenure, the PMC has testified before Congress, hosted CMS listening sessions, submitted numerous comments to CMS that have impacted program memoranda, lobbied Congress successfully to limit CMS' extrapolation authority, and has become a recognized conduit between the industry, Congress and CMS.
